2003 All State

All State Report

Congratulations to all who were selected and to those coaches who took the time to turn in a ballot and the division endorsement list.

A special thank you to the committee who began their deliberations and vote counting at 9:30 on Saturday June 14 at Branford, broke for the D1 finals, and then finished their work before the D2 finals began. The committee consisted of Pat McCahill, Hand, chair; Kathy Walling, Hall; Ashley Gengras, Conard; Jill Strub, New Milford; Dave Stratton, West Haven; John Pont, Newington; Patty Gesell, ex officio. Two coaches who had volunteered to assist from the FCIAC were in the D1 finals and unavailable. Other coaches’ commitments prohibited their being replaced by league members. The criteria used for the selection of the teams included number of votes received, plus additional information including a player’s selection to an All Conference 1^st team, All Lower New England teams, and All American.

A reminder regarding the criteria –

Coaches must be members of US Lacrosse.
Coaches must submit THIS BALLOT for their own players to be eligible for 1^st Team. Some coaches who did not turn in ballots had players moved from the 1^st to 2^nd team.

Ballots were faxed to Patty Gesell at 860-659-8505 or emailed to Patty Gesell at gesellp@glastonburyus.org no later than 3:00 PM on Friday June 13th.

The All State Certificates will be mailed by Wednesday June 18^th. Please check the spelling on the certificates before you mail it to a player. However the certificate is only as accurate as the information given and the legibility of some handwriting. If there is a problem please verify the spelling and contact Patty Gesell via email.
