A message from Patty Gesell, CHSGLA President 1998-2004, and CIAC Tournament Chair 2004:

A thank you to all on the committee and other volunteers for taking a large part of their day to count ballots. Pat McCahill chaired the committee and those who served on the committee include Kathy Walling, Hall; Cliff Yerkes, North Branford; Dan Warburton, Cheshire; Jill Strub, New Milford; Al Mortali, Old Saybrook; Mike Farnham, Guilford; and John Pont, Newington.

Thank you also to the members of the tournament committee and their support Saturday at the finals, Pat McCahill, Cecelia O'Doherty, Jill Strub and Jay Smith plus John Pont and Kathy Walling who stayed to help. Congratulations to all teams who qualified and played in the tournament, especially the four teams in the finals. Not only did they play well but all are to be congratulated on their sportsmanship!

A very special thank you to the coaches for the support and assistance they have given to me and the CHSLGLA over the past six years. The pewter plate you presented to me at the March meeting is beautiful and I receive many compliments on it from those who visit my office. Another thank you to Kathy Walling for the kind words she shared with the those at the tournament after the Division 2 game as wells the flowers.

I know the sport will continue to grow. I will cherish the friendships I have made while working with the coaches, ADs and athletics. My main hope is that the sport retains its purity and the girls who play have positive experiences.
